About the function

Innovation Centre, Canary Wharf
Kadans are opening an Innovation Centre at 20 Water Street, Canary Wharf in June 2023. The Innovation Center will provide early-stage life science companies with either their own private lab and office or a bench in a shared laboratory. The Innovation Centre will also provide tenants with access to shared facilities include meeting rooms, break out space and kitchen facilities.
Divided over two floors, the Innovation Centre totals 40,000 sq ft and will provide space for up to 24 early-stage life science companies to gather, create and innovate.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Front of house Receptionist to proactively build an active and engaged community of tenants and ensure the smooth and safe running of our Innovation Centre.

The post holder will be responsible for a range of tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Ensuring excellent customer experience and service for all users and visitors to the Centre.
  • Building strong relationships with tenants
  • Leading on the provision of facilities support to Centre users, ensuring effective support for booking meeting rooms, setting-up AV equipment for presentations and video/teleconferencing, 
  • Onboarding new tenants, issuing security passes
  • Receiving external visitors and arranging guest systems access.
  • Managing the Innovation Centre email account and responding to all incoming general requests within 24-hours
  • Answering telephone queries, receiving and distributing mail, making arrangement for access and supervising deliveries.
  • Ensuring resources such as office and kitchen supplies and other materials are available and reordering these as required.
  • Working closely with the Laboratory Technician to support tenant requirements.

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Experience of providing high quality customer service, being responsive and confident in dealing with customer needs 
  • Experience of managing community groups
  • Competent IT skills including Outlook
  • Efficient organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and verbal, including a professional telephone manner
  • Proactive, with ability to think ahead and anticipate needs before they arise
  • Ability to deal with multiple enquiries simultaneously
  • Ability to work effectively on your own as well as in a team, and to balance changing demands and competing priorities
  • Approachable with willingness to help others across the team
