As our new Business Development Director, you will further put Kadans on the map in the UK and continue to grow with us.
In this newly created role, you will play a crucial role in identifying and converting leasing opportunities for our Kadans UK portfolio. You will be the driving force in attracting new tenants to our spaces, making a direct contribution to our business growth.You will work closely with our pan-European sales teams to  identify tenant-focused opportunities and make best use of our global network. You will focus primarily on leasing our development assets, building a strong network of relationships to optimise business and lease performance.

As part of the Kadans UK portfolio we have our latest joint venture with Canary Wharf Group where we will be building the biggest multi-let Life Science building in Europe.

Who are we looking for?
In this new role, you will be responsible for identifying and converting direct and indirect leasing opportunities for the Kadans UK portfolio. Delivering new occupiers into our spaces is the primary objective of the role. The position will work closely with our pan-European sales teams to identify tenant-focused opportunities and leverage our global network. You will be primarily responsible for leasing our development assets, with the team focusing on our development portfolio. You will build a network of relationships to improve business and leasing performance.

As a Business Development Director:

  • You will participate in developing and executing comprehensive acquisition strategies to identify and attract potential tenants, creating and maintaining a strong pipeline of potential tenants through networking, referrals and proactive outreach,
  • You develop your indirect acquisition strategies by collaborating with industry groups and stakeholders and conduct market research to keep abreast of market developments, competitive activities and opportunities.
  • You drive the acquisition and sales execution of deals in the UK, working with the UK team and conducting interviews with potential tenants to understand their needs and suggest appropriate options.
  • You participate in preparing and delivering compelling presentations and proposals to potential tenants.
  • You negotiate lease terms with asset managers, leasing and UK management teams.
  • You will be responsible for meeting and exceeding lease targets set by the company.
  • You will work closely with the marketing team to develop targeted campaigns and generate leads. You will also work closely with marketing colleagues to create high quality, tailored tenant-focused materials.
  • You work with the International Head of Business Development and European colleagues to promote a 'sales first' culture and knowledge sharing.
  • You are providing regular updates to the UK Asset Management Lead by closely monitoring KPIs, analysing sales and market data. And as Business Development Director you will be fully informed of acquisition and leasing activity and optimise the effectiveness of your strategy.

  • A natural networker with skills to convert network into deals
  • Commercially aware with flexibility and creativity to match our diverse portfolio
  • Someone with experience in commercial real estate is not essential, but direct exposure to Life Science is a requirement
  • Someone with excellent negotiation skills and the ability to find a win-win solution
  • A candidate with experience in giving presentations and interest in attending and hosting industry events
  • Someone with a willingness to travel globally
  • Someone with a track record of delivering successful results for clients, both externally and internally.

Who are you working with and for?
It's an exciting time to be joining the Kadans business in the UK.  We have a strong pipeline of properties under development, and some are already operationally active.  We have recently received planning permission for Brandon Road 4 in Kings Cross, Upper Brook Street in Manchester and Merlin Place in Cambridge.  We have also started the next phase of construction work for One North Quay in Canary Wharf, the largest life multi-let life science building in Europe.

The role sits within the company's Asset Management division. The Asset Management division delivers our strategic, financial and operational objectives. The division consists of three main teams: Property Management, Business Development & Leasing Asset Management. In all 6 countries where Kadans operates, a Head of Asset & Property Management leads the team where the roles will report. In support of Business Development, an International Head of Business Development will be responsible for supporting local teams with whom this role will work closely.
